Our Statement of Faith
-
| 1)
We
Affirm our
confidence in the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, as
verbally inspired by the Holy Spirit, they are without error in the
original manuscripts and that they are the supreme and final
authority for faith and life. Psalms 19:7, Matthew 5:18, II Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 4:12, II Peter 1:19 -21 2) We Acknowledge one God, Creator and Sustainer of the universe, who is eternally existent in three persons:- Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Genesis 1:1, Exodus 3:14, Deuteronomy 6:4 , John 4: 24 , Colossians 1: 16,17 3
)We Believe
in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His
death to pay the penalty for our sins, His bodily resurrection, His
exaltation at God’s right hand and His personal,
imminent and pre millennial return. 4)
We Understand
the
Holy Spirit as the third member of the Godhead, incessantly at work
convincing and comforting. The moment that a person is born again, the
Holy Spirit indwells them and seals their salvation for eternity. 5)
We Recognize
that
Adam, created in the image of God, was tempted by Satan, the god of this
world, and fell. Because of Adam’s sin, all people have guilt imputed,
and are totally depraved. 6 ) We are convinced that all who receive Jesus Christ by faith are born again of the Holy Spirit, and are therefore, children of God, eternally saved. The Holy Spirit dwells within every believer to enlighten, to guide, and to enable that one in life, testimony and service. John 3:16; 5:24, Romans 6:23, Galatians 2:16, Titus 3:5, I John 5: 11-13 7 ) We are Confident that God gives spiritual gifts to all believers for the building up of the body of Christ; however, we believe that some gifts of the Spirit, such as tongues and healings, were evidently limited to the early church. We believe that God answers the prayers of His people and meets their needs according to His purpose. I Corinthians 12; 13:8-10; 14:12, Ephesians 4, I Peter 4:10-11 8) We Anticipate the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the saved will enjoy everlasting life and blessedness in heaven, and the unsaved to everlasting and conscious punishment in hell. Matthew 16:27, John 5:22, 28‑29, II Corinthian 5:8-10, Revelation 20:11-15 9)
We Consider the
church, the body of Christ, consisting of all those who are born
again who are baptized by the Holy Spirit into Christ at the time of
regeneration, for whom He now makes intercession in heaven and for whom
He will come again. 10) We Practice the ordinances of the church that Scripture prescribes: Baptism -- Scripture teaches that baptism is to be by immersion as a visible sign of a spiritual reality. Baptism is a step of obedience and identification with Christ. Matthew 28:1920, Acts 8:36-39, Romans 6:3-5 The Lord’s Table -- This observance is a solemn reminder of Christ’s sacrificial death, at His table we recognize the unity that we enjoy in Christ. We invite all in fellowship with Him to partake. Acts 2:41-42, I Corinthians 10:16-17; 11:23-29 11) We Determine that all believers are called into a life of separation from all sinful practices and alliances, and that all saints have been commissioned to proclaim the gospel to every creature. Romans 12:1-2; 13:14, I Peter 1:16; 2:9, I John 1:7; 2:15-17, Matthew 28:19-20 |
