Pastor R. Scott Boger
Born in Philadelphia and drawn to the Lord at an early age, Scott grew up as a missionary kid in Nova Scotia. He returned to the United States to study and eventually graduate from Washington Bible College in 1989. While at Bible college, Scott met and married his wife, Susie. He returned to Nova Scotia for sixteen years of pastoral ministry in two churches. Scott and Susie also welcomed four precious gifts into the world – Katie, Bobby, Courtney and Melissa. After receiving a call to First Baptist Church in Newton, NJ, the Bogers moved south and have been in ministry here since May 2005. Scott enjoys the outdoors, baseball, reading, puzzles and people.
Kevin Carr
Kevin was born in Newton, NJ and raised in Sparta. Kevin is married to his lovely wife, Holly. They have four adult children, two sons-in-law, two grandchildren and one on the way. Kevin is a Special Education teacher in Andover, NJ. He has been teaching now for thirty-six years. He became a member of FBC in 1977 until 1992. He then attended a Reformed Baptist Church for twelve years and rejoined FBC in 2006. Over the many years at FBC Kevin served as a deacon, Sunday School superintendent and teacher, a member of the church choir and praise and worship team leader. Kevin has enjoyed leading Bible study groups over the past few years. In his free time Kevin enjoys coaching and playing sports, art, cooking, photography, reading, painting houses, doing lawn work and being with family and friends
Rod Ryle Rod and his wife, Cathy, came to First Baptist in 2007. After serving as senior pastor for twenty years, Rod is now active in several aspects of ministry at FBC. Both Rod and Cathy serve as Sunday School and Children’s Church teachers and Rod sings in the choir and praise team. The Ryles have two married daughters and four grandchildren. Rod is an avid Phillies fan and enjoys all sports.
George Wolfe
George became a Christian in 1985 through Christian radio ministries in Houston, TX. He and his wife Diana were members of a Bible church for 9 years before transferring to New Jersey in 1994. George is part owner of a chemical process equipment company with two of his brothers. He’s now enjoying his 26th year of marriage to Diana and raising three wonderful girls, now teenagers. George became a member at FBC of Newton Sept 2007 after 11 years at a Reformed Baptist church. Their family enjoys biking, skiing and playing Irish music.
Dallas was born right here in Newton and spent his elementary school years in Ogdensburg. After graduating from high school in Vermont, he attended Liberty University. Originally taking classes for broadcast journalism, Dallas felt God’s call to ministry and graduated with a youth ministry degree in 1995. For the past ten years he has led the youth ministry in Hoosick Falls, NY. He recently moved back into the area with his wife and four children. Dallas likes all sports, enjoys hiking and reading classic literature, especially Mark Twain.
